ووفقا للمادة 8 من القانون النموذجي، عندما يشترط القانون تقديم معلومات أو الاحتفاظ بها في شكلها الأصلي، تستوفي رسالة البيانات هذا الاشتراط إذا:

Article 7 of the Model Law referred to “Where the law requires a signature”, which addressed both requirements of law and requirements of evidence.

١ - رهنا بأحكام الفقرة ٣، عندما يشترط القانون تنفيذ أي فعل من اﻷفعال المشار إليها في المادة ١٦ باستخدام الكتابة أو باستخدام مستند ورقي، يستوفى ذلك الشرط إذا نفذ الفعل باستخدام رسالة بيانات واحدة أو أكثر.
