The consultants took note of resolution 51/211 C of 18 December 1996, in which the General Assembly calls on the Secretary-General “to complete the task of uploading all important older United Nations documents on the United Nations Web site on a priority basis, so that these archives are also available to Member States through that medium”.
وقد أحاط الخبيران الاستشاريان علما بالقرار ٥١/٢١١ جيم المؤرخ ١٨ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦، الذي تطلب فيه الجمعية العامة الى اﻷمين العام " أن يكمل، على سبيل اﻷولوية، مهمة إدراج جميع وثائق اﻷمم المتحدة الهامة اﻷقدم عهدا في موقع الشبكة العالمية الخاص باﻷمم المتحدة، وذلك ﻹتاحة تلك المحفوظات أيضا للدول اﻷعضاء من خلال تلك الوسيلة " .

15. Recommends consideration of the use of optical scanners as a means of expediting the counting of votes cast through secret ballots during elections, taking due account of the security requirements in this regard and the credibility, reliability and confidentiality of such means, and requests the Secretary-General to report on the modalities thereof to the General Assembly through the Committee on Conferences;
15 - توصي بالنظر في استعمال الماسحات الضوئية كوسيلة للإسراع بحساب الأصوات المدلى بها بالاقتراع السري في الانتخابات، مع إيلاء الاعتبار اللازم للشروط الأمنية في هذا الصدد ومصداقية تلك الوسيلة وموثوقيتها وسريتها، وتطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا عن طرائق ذلك إلى الجمعية العامة عن طريق لجنة المؤتمرات؛
