The Subcommittee noted that the Secretariat had scheduled the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee to be held from 6 to 17 February 2012.

The Working Group noted with satisfaction the holding, in conjunction with the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee, of a symposium entitled " National space legislation: crafting legal engines for the growth of space activities " .

At the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee, in 2010, the Working Group agreed to address to the Governments of Member States the following additional question:

The Committee expressed its appreciation to Ahmad Talebzadeh (Islamic Republic of Iran) for his able leadership during the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee.

Some delegations expressed the view that the topic for the symposium to be organized by the International Institute of Space Law and the European Centre for Space Law in the framework of the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee, in 2010, should relate to the issue of the definition and delimitation of outer space.
187- ورأت بعض الوفود أن موضوع الندوة التي سينظمها المعهد الدولي لقانون الفضاء والمركز الأوروبي لقانون الفضاء في إطار الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للجنة الفرعية في عام 2010 ينبغي أن تتصل بمسألة تعريف الفضاء الخارجي وتعيين حدوده.

The Committee agreed that the International Institute of Space Law and the European Centre for Space Law should be invited to hold a symposium on space law at the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee (A/AC.105/935, para. 189).

The Committee noted that expert groups A-D of the Working Group were meeting on the margins of the current session of the Committee to make progress in their work, in accordance with the terms of reference and methods of work of the Working Group, and as agreed by the Working Group at the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee (A/AC.105/1001, annex IV, para. 16 (a)).
