Requests the Secretary-General to prepare for the Commission on Transnational Corporations at its twentieth session suitable background papers and recommendations for a fresh approach to an international framework on foreign investment, which might include the preparation of guidelines, taking into account the views of the Member States on such matters;

34. At the 2nd meeting, on 3 February, the Council adopted a draft decision (E/1994/L.7, draft decision XIII) entitled " Dates of the twentieth session of the Commission on Transnational Corporations " .
٣٤ - في الجلسة الثانية، المعقودة في ٣ شباط/فبراير، اعتمد المجلس مشروع مقرر E/1994/L.7)، مشروع المقرر الثالث عشر( بعنوان " مواعيد الدورة العشرين للجنة المعنية بالشركات عبر الوطنية " .

At its 2nd plenary meeting, on 3 February 1994, the Council decided to waive the provisions of its resolutions 1982/50 of 28 July 1982, paragraph 1 (1), and 1988/77 of 29 July 1988, paragraph 2 (f) (i), and to authorize the holding of the twentieth session of the Commission on Transnational Corporations at Geneva from 2 to 11 May 1994.
