On 29 June, in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the penal administration (Direction de l'administration pénitentiaire), the Director of Prison Administration held " open days " at the National Penitentiary and Fort National prisons in Port-au-Prince during which journalists were invited to inspect prison conditions.
31 - وفي 29 حزيران/يونيه، نظم مدير إدارة السجون، بمناسبة الذكرى الرابعة لإنشاء الإدارة الجنائية (تنظيم إدارة السجون)، " أياما مفتوحة " في السجن القومي وسجون فور الوطنية في بور - أو - برانس دعي خلالها الصحفيون إلى تفقد أحوال السجن.

279. On 22 September 1993, the Association of Israeli-Palestinian Physicians for Human Rights petitioned the High Court of Justice to close the Ketziot detention centre in the Negev desert because of " inferior conditions of imprisonment " .

While Sudanese law stipulates that a prosecutor inspect the conditions of imprisonment in pre-trial detention facilities, Darfurian detainees assert that they were never visited by a prosecutor and that they were given no opportunity to discuss their treatment and detention conditions with a prosecutor.
