Article 5 of the Convention calls on States parties to take all appropriate measures to modify the patterns of conduct of men and women " with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices that are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women " .
وتدعو الاتفاقية في مادتها 5 الدول الأطراف إلى أن تعتمد جميع التدابير المناسبة لتعديل أنماط سلوك الرجال والنساء، ' ' بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة``.

5. Article 5: Sex Roles and Stereotyping: Social and Cultural Patterns Leading To Discrimination and To stereotyped roles For Men And Women
5 - المادة 5: الأدوار والقوالب النمطية المحددة حسب الجنس: الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية المؤدية إلى التمييز وإلى أدوار نمطية مقولبة لكل من الرجل والمرأة

a) Measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles of men and women.
تدابير لتعديل الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة، بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوّق أحد الجنسين، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة.

States are further required to take steps to eliminate prejudices and change practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
ويتعين على الدول كذلك أن تقوم بخطوات للقضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة().

194. The Committee emphasizes that article 5 of the Convention stipulates that all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women be taken, with a view to the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices that are based on stereotyped roles for men and women.
١٩٤ - وتشدد اللجنة على الالتزام المنصوص عليه في المادة ٥ من الاتفاقية بأن تتخذ الدول اﻷطراف جميع التدابير المناسبة لتعديل اﻷنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة، بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات اﻷخرى القائمة على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة.

27. When examining reports submitted by States parties, the Committee pays particular attention to the measures taken by Governments to eliminate prejudices and customary practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
٢٧- ولدى النظر في التقارير المقدمة من الدول اﻷطراف، تولي اللجنة اهتماما خاصا للتدابير التي تتخذها الحكومات للقضاء على المواقف المتحيزة والممارسات العرفية التي تستند الى فكرة تفﱡوق أو تدنﱢي أحد الجنسين بالنسبة لﻵخر أو الى أدوار نمطية للرجال والنساء.

24- ويقتضي القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان من الدول أن تتخذ أيضاً تدابير للقضاء على الممارسات الثقافية والتقليدية الضارة وجميع الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين، أو على أدوار نمطية للنساء والرجال.
