5. Nepal: The Special Rapporteur received information alleging that Lok Maya Adhikari was sentenced to one year in jail on 27 June 1995 by the Jhapa district court after being convicted of having had an abortion.

It was also reported that, following the recommendation of a military court of inquiry, Colonel Bobby Khatri, Captain Sunil Adhikari and Captain Amit Pun were brought to trial before a court martial.
350- وأُفيد أيضاً بأن العقيد بوبي خاتري والنقيب سونيل أديكاري والنقيب أميت بون قدموا للمحاكمة أمام محكمة عسكرية، بناء على توصية محكمة تحقيق عسكرية.

Regarding the factors that are delaying the handing over of Colonel Bobby Khatri, Captain Sunil Adhikari, Captain Amit Pun and Major Niranjan Basnet to the District Court of Kavre, the Government responded that the resignations submitted by the latter two Captains were approved and officially sanctioned and that Col Bobby Khatri's terms of service were not extended by the Government.

The Commission therefore elected, by acclamation, Ms. Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal), as Chair of the Commission.
ولذا فقد انتخبت اللجنة، بالتزكية، السيدة سيوا لامسال أديكاري (نيبال)، رئيسا للجنة.

Ms. Adhikari (Nepal) said her country greatly valued the promotion and protection of human rights and had enacted legislation in order to protect the rights of all sections of society.

These included the killings by RNA of Krishna Simkhada in Dhading District in May 2005, Bhim Prasad Poudel in Jhapa District in June 2005, and Rama Adhikari in Jhapa District in July 2005; and the killing by APF of Manoj Basnet in Biratnagar, Morang District, in August 2005.

2. At the 2nd meeting, on 11 February, the Chair of the fifty-second session, Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal), opened the regular session and made a statement.

2. At the 3rd meeting, on 6 February, the Chair of the fifty-first session, Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal), opened the regular session and made a statement.

6. At the same meeting, the Commission proceeded to elect, by acclamation, Ms. Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal) as Chair of the Commission and Ms. Julia Thallinger (Austria) and Mr. Carlos Enrique García González (El Salvador) as ViceChairs of the Commission.
6 - وبناء عليه، انتخبت اللجنة بالتزكية السيدة سيوا لامسال أديكاري (نيبال( رئيسة للجنة، والسيدة جوليا تالينغر (النمسا) والسيد كارلوس إنريكيه غارسيا غونزاليس (السلفادور) نائبين لرئيسة اللجنة.

72. Ms. Adhikari (Nepal) said that, as a major troop contributor, her country attached great importance to all aspects of peacekeeping operations, especially the need to strengthen their efficiency in the face of growing challenges and complexities.
72 - السيدة أديكاري (نيبال): قالت إن بلدها، بوصفه من البلدان الرئيسية المساهمة بقوات، يُعلق أهمية كبيرة على جميع جوانب عمليات حفظ السلام، ولا سيما الحاجة إلى تعزيز كفاءتها في مواجهة التحديات والتعقيدات المتزايدة.

Ms. Adhikari (Nepal) said that, while agriculture was the lifeline of Nepal's economy, many Nepalese farmers merely subsisted.
23 - السيدة أديكاري (نيبال): قالت إن الزراعة هي الشريان المغذي للاقتصاد في نيبال، وإن الكثير من مزارعي نيبال يعيشون على الكفاف فقط.

It was alleged that those responsible for these crimes were (then Lt. Colonel) Colonel Bobby Khatri, Captain Sunil Adhikari, Captain Amit Pun and (then Captain) Major Niranjan Basnet.

At the same meeting, the Chair of the fifty-second session of the Commission for Social Development, Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal), presented the highlights of the report of the Commission (E/2014/26) and the Chair of the fifty-third session of the Commission, Simona Mirela Miculescu (Romania), made a statement (under item 17 (b)).
١٦٣ - وفي الجلسة نفسها، عرضت سيوا لامسال أديكاري (نيبال)، رئيسة الدورة الثانية والخمسين للجنة التنمية الاجتماعية أبرز ما جاء في تقرير اللجنة (E/2014/26) وأدلت سيمونا ميريلا ميكوليسكو (رومانيا)، رئيسة الدورة الثالثة والخمسين للجنة، ببيان (في إطار البند 17 (ب)).

The Commission held the second meeting of its fifty-first session on 20 December 2012 and elected by acclamation Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal) as Chair and Julia Thallinger (Austria) and Carlos Enrique García González (El Salvador) as Vice-Chairs.
وعقدت اللجنة الجلسة الثانية في إطار دورتها الحادية والخمسين في 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2012، وانتخبت بالتزكية سيوا لامسال أديكاري (نيبال) رئيسة، وجوليا تالينغر (النمسا) وكارلوس إنريكي غارسيا غونزاليس (السلفادور)، نائبين للرئيسة.

Accordingly, the Commission held the first meeting of its fifty-second session on 15 February 2013, immediately following the closure of the fifty-first session, and elected by acclamation Sewa Lamsal Adhikari (Nepal) as Chair and Julia Thallinger (Austria), Larysa Belskaya (Belarus), Amira Fahmy (Egypt) and Carlos García González (El Salvador) as Vice-Chairs.
