The United Nations expert noted that, in accordance with the Guidance for Effective Mediation, prepared by the United Nations Secretariat after protracted consultations, " Mediation is a process whereby a third party assists two or more parties, with their consent, to prevent, manage or resolve a conflict by helping them to develop mutually acceptable agreements " .
150 - وعملا بالتوجيهات المتعلقة بالوساطة الفعالة، التي أعدتها الأمانة العامة للأمم المتحدة بعد مشاورات واسعة النطاق، ذكر خبير الأمم المتحدة بأن " الوساطة عملية يقوم بموجبها طرف ثالث بمساعدة طرفين أو أكثر، بموافقتها، على منع نشوب نزاع أو إدارته أو تسويته عن طريق مساعدة الطرفين أو الأطراف على صياغة اتفاق يقبل به الجميع " .
