The draft resolution takes note of the decision of the Heads of Government of CARICOM earlier this year on the desirability of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the secretariats of the United Nations and CARICOM.

945. In the context of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation with regional organizations, the General Assembly in its resolution 49/15 of 15 November 1994 welcomed the decision of the secretariats of the United Nations and OIC to develop mechanisms of cooperation in the political field.
٩٤٥ - في سياق الجهود الجارية لتعزيز التعاون مع المنظمات الاقليمية، رحبت الجمعية العامة في قرارها ٤٩/١٥ المؤرخ ١٥ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٤ باعتزام أمانتي اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر الاسلامي إنشاء آليات تعاون في الميدان السياسي.
