The Fifth Committee also decided to inform the General Assembly that it would need to approve an exception to the provisions of its resolution 40/243 of 18 December 1985, under which all bodies should meet at their established headquarters in respect of meetings that are to be held away from the established headquarters of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.

On the proposal of the Chairman, the Committee decided, without a vote, to inform the General Assembly that, since the subject matter had been taken over by events, a decision by the Fifth Committee on the statement of the Secretary-General on the programme budget implications of draft resolution A/C.5/54/L.83, contained in document A/C.5/54/64, was no longer needed at this stage.
