Given that the term " descent " does not refer solely to race or ethnic or national origin, and that the situation with respect to castes falls within the scope of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has recommended that the State party provide information about the enjoyment of rights by all groups, including castes.
11- ونظرا إلى أن لفظ " النسب " لا يشير إلى العرق أو الأصل الإثني أو القومي فحسب، ونظراً إلى أن الوضع المتعلق بالطبقات الاجتماعية يقع في نطاق الاتفاقية الدولية للقضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز العنصري، فإن لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري أوصت بأن تقدم الدولة الطرف معلومات عن تمتع جميع الفئات بحقوقها، بما فيها الطبقات الاجتماعية.

Bearing in mind the Committee's general recommendation No. 13 (1993) on the training of law enforcement officials in the protection of human rights, the Committee urges the State party to ensure that training sessions organized for law enforcement officials equip them to fully respect and protect the fundamental rights of all persons without discrimination on the basis of race, colour or ethnic or national origin.

30. In 2000, CERD considered an Estonian immigration law that imposed a strict immigration quota on citizens of all countries except member States of the European Union and several other selected countries. The Committee expressed " particular concern " over the legislation and recommended that " the quota system be applied without discrimination based on race or ethnic or national origin " .
