In view of that observation and other findings of the Inspectors and taking into account the directives of the General Assembly on the matter, the Secretary-General undertook a review of the in-house capabilities of the Secretariat to improve the management of works of art.
وقد قام اﻷمين العام، على ضوء هذه الملاحظة وغيرها من النتائج التي توصل إليها المفتشان وآخذا في الاعتبار توجيهات الجمعية العامة بشأن هذا الموضوع، بإجراء استعراض للقدرات الموجودة داخليا لدى اﻷمانة العامة على تحسين إدارة اﻷعمال الفنية.

9. The Secretary-General will continue to review measures to improve the management of works of art in the United Nations and intends to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-second session on any action taken in this regard.

49. The CHAIRMAN declared that the Committee had completed its general debate on the report of the Joint Inspection Unit on managing works of art in the United Nations.

50. The CHAIRMAN drew the Committee's attention to an informal text of a draft resolution on managing works of art in the United Nations and said that, if he heard no objection, he would take it that the Fifth Committee wished to approve it.

11. Mr. OSELLA (Argentina), Vice-Chairman, introduced draft resolution A/C.5/48/L.2, entitled " managing works of art in the United Nations " .
١١ - السيد أوسيلا )اﻷرجنتين(، نائب الرئيس: عرض مشروع القرار A/C.5/48/L.2 المعنون " إدارة اﻷعمال الفنية في اﻷمم المتحدة " وأشار الى أن النص قُبل بتوافق اﻵراء في مشارورات غير رسمية.

10. In regard to paragraph 11 (2) of the report, the institutionalizing of the management of works of art does not appear advisable as that can make it cumbersome.
١٠ - فيما يتعلق بالفقرة ١١ )٢( من التقرير لا يبدو أن إضفاء الطابع المؤسسي على إدارة اﻷعمال الفنية أمر مستصوب نظرا ﻷن ذلك قد يجعلها بطيئة الحركة.

1. By its resolution 48/217 of 23 December 1993, entitled " managing works of art in the United Nations: report of the Joint Inspection Unit " , the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to continue to improve the management of works of art in such a manner as to avoid additional costs to the regular budget of the United Nations with due regard to the quality of services being provided.
١ - طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى اﻷمين العام، بموجب قرارها ٤٨/٢١٧ المؤرخ ٢٣ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣، المعنون " إدارة اﻷعمال الفنية في اﻷمم المتحدة: تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة " ، أن يواصل تحسين إدارة اﻷعمال الفنية، على أن يتلافى تحميل الميزانية العادية لﻷمم المتحدة تكاليف إضافية، مع إيلاء المراعاة الواجبة لنوعية الخدمات المقدمة.
