At that session I also submitted a report to the Council on the protection of human rights in the context of HIV and AIDS (A/HRC/19/37), which provides a human rights analysis of the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 65/277.

As noted in an earlier report to the Council on the protection of civilians in armed conflict (S/1999/957), international instruments are essential tools for the legal protection of all civilians in armed conflict, and their ratification and, most importantly, their implementation should be a top priority for Member States.
ولقد لاحظت في تقرير سبق وأن قدمته إلى المجلس عن حماية المدنيين في الصراع المسلح (S/1999/957) أن الصكوك الدولية هي أدوات لا غنى عنها لإسباغ الحماية القانونية على جميع المدنيين في الصراع المسلح وأن التصديق عليها، فضلا عن تنفيذها وهذا هو الأهم لا بد وأن يشكل أولوية عليا بالنسبة للدول الأعضاء.

For example, in her report to the Council on the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism (A/HRC/16/50), the High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed her concern at the erosion of respect for due process, including the right to fair trial, in the context of counter-terrorism policies and practices, and provided recommendations to States in that regard.
