As is shown in annex II to the present report, four cases of accused indicted by the Tribunal who are in custody have been referred to national jurisdictions.
وكما هو مبيّن في المرفق الثاني بهذا التقرير، فقد أحيل إلى الهيئات القضائية الوطنية أربع قضايا لمتهمين محتجزين أصدرت المحكمة لوائح اتهام بحقهم.

The referral of those cases to national jurisdictions also increased engagement with national judiciaries in the former Yugoslavia and helped to build the capacity of those jurisdictions in the prosecution of violations of international humanitarian law, thus reinforcing the rule of law in these new States.
كما أسهمت إحالة هذه القضايا إلى الهيئات القضائية الوطنية في زيادة عمل المحكمة مع أجهزة القضاء الوطنية في يوغوسلافيا السابقة، وساعدت في بناء قدرات تلك الهيئات القضائية على مقاضاة مرتكبي انتهاكات القانون الدولي الإنساني، وبالتالي تعزيز سيادة القانون في هذه الدول الجديدة.

It is a function that is critical to the performance of the other functions of the Mechanism, including any trial or appeal activity and the provision of assistance to national jurisdictions.

If it decided not to try a case, competence would revert to national judicial bodies.
فإذا قررت ألا تنظر في قضية ما، يعود الاختصاص عندئذ إلى الهيئات القضائية الوطنية.

Continuous activities included witness protection, tracking of fugitives, supervision of enforcement of sentences, archive management, and assistance to national prosecution authorities.
