1. The Chairman drew the Committee’s attention to a letter dated 18 November 1998 from the Chairman of the Fifth Committee addressed to the President of the General Assembly following a decision taken by the Third Committee.

The United Kingdom would also like to draw attention to a communication dated 4 September 2009 from the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in London to the depository for the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
