15. According to the latest progress report on UNCTAD technical cooperation presented to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts in June 1999, the main types of technical cooperation activities carried out by the secretariat are:

The representative of China, referring to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten, said that the work carried out by the UNCTAD secretariat over many years in preparing statistics and analyses on the tungsten market had played an important role in helping to increase knowledge in the tungsten industry in many countries.

Paragraph 14 of a resolution adopted by the Third United Nations Conference on Restrictive Business Practices, which was held in Geneva from 13 to 21 November 1995, referred to a recommendation to change the title of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Restrictive Business Practices to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition, Law and Policy.

That review was contained in document TD/B/COM.2/EM/9 and was submitted to the Expert Meeting on Competition Law and Policy on 24 November 1997; an updated review (TD/B/COM.2/CLP/2) was submitted to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy on 29 July 1998.

Based on the valuable comments and advice on improving the draft, a second draft was presented to and discussed by the intergovernmental expert group on protection against trafficking in cultural property in its second meeting, held from 27 to 29 June 2012.

In July 2003, as final preparations were being made for the WTO Ministerial Conference in Cancún, the UNCTAD secretariat submitted to the IGE on Competition Law and Policy, at its fifth session, its " Final Consolidated Report of Regional Capacity-Building Meetings Organized by UNCTAD on Competition Issues within the Framework of the Doha Mandate " .
