58. At the 44th meeting, on 28 July, the Council adopted draft resolution IV, entitled “Relocation of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia to its permanent headquarters at Beirut”, recommended by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (E/1999/14/Add.3, chap. I, sect. D).

Expresses its appreciation for the plans prepared and the measures adopted by the secretariat of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, including the plan for the Commission's relocation to its permanent headquarters at Beirut in accordance with a timetable that will not interfere with the implementation of the programmes of the Commission and will take into consideration the needs of its staff;

At the 34th meeting, on 18 July, the Council adopted draft resolution VII, entitled " Progress made in facilitating the relocation of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia to its permanent headquarters at Beirut " , recommended by the Commission (E/1997/40/Add.1, chap. I, sect. E).

7. On 27 November 2000, the Tribunal moved to its permanent premises in Nienstedten, a suburb of Hamburg.

4. Later this year, the Tribunal will move out from its temporary premises in the centre of Hamburg to its permanent premises in Nienstedten, a residential suburb located 15 kilometres from the commercial centre of the city.
