2. Welcomes the appointment of Shaista Shameem as Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the question of the use of mercenaries as a means of impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination, and encourages her to continue and further advance the valuable work done and the important contributions made by Enrique Bernales Ballesteros during sixteen years in the discharge of his mandate;
2 - ترحب بتعيين السيدة شايستا شامين مقررة خاصة للجنة حقوق الإنسان معنية بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة كوسيلة لإعاقة ممارسة حق الشعوب في تقرير المصير وتشجعها على أن تواصل وتدفع قدما العمل القيم الذي أنجز والإسهامات الهامة التي قدمها إنريكه برناليس بالستيروس خلال فترة اضطلاعه بهذه المهمة لمدة 16 عاما؛

2. 2 - ترحب بتعيين السيدة شايستا شاميم مقررة خاصة للجنة حقوق الإنسان معنية بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة كوسيلة لإعاقة ممارسة حق الشعوب في تقرير المصير، وتشجعها على أن تواصل وتدفع قدما العمل القيم الذي أنجز والإسهامات الهامة التي قدمها إنريكه برناليس بالستيروس خلال فترة الستة عشر عاما التي استغرقتها ولايته؛

15. Requests the new Special Rapporteur on mercenaries to circulate to and consult with States on the new proposal for a legal definition of a mercenary drafted by Mr. Enrique Bernales Ballesteros (see E/CN.4/2004/15, para. 47) and to report his/her findings to the Commission;
15- تطلب إلى المقرر الخاص الجديد المعني بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة أن يعمم على الدول ويتشاور معها بشأن الاقتراح الجديد المتعلق بتعريفٍ قانوني للمرتزق صاغه السيد إنريكه برناليس بالستيروس (انظر E/CN.4/2004/15، الفقرة 47)، وأن يقدم استنتاجاته بشأن الموضوع إلى اللجنة؛

60. At the 11th meeting, on 21 March 2003, Mr. Enrique Bernales Ballesteros, Special Rapporteur on the use of mercenaries as a means of impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination, introduced his report (E/CN.4/2003/16).
60- وفي الجلسة 11 المعقودة في 21 آذار/مارس 2003، قام السيد إنريكه برناليس بالييستيروس، المقرر الخاص المعني بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة كوسيلة لإعاقة ممارسة حق الشعوب في تقرير المصير، بعرض تقريره (E/CN.4/2003/16).

1. Welcomes the report of the Special Rapporteur on the use of mercenaries as a means of impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to selfdetermination (E/CN.4/2004/15), and commends Mr. Enrique Bernales Ballesteros for the valuable work and contributions he made in fulfilling his mandate for 16 years;
1- ترحب بتقرير المقرر الخاص المعني بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة كوسيلة لإعاقة ممارسة حق الشعوب في تقرير المصير (E/CN.4/2004/15)، وتثني على السيد إنريكه برناليس بالستيروس لما قام به من عمل قيّم وما قدّمه من مساهمات في اضطلاعه بولايته منذ ست عشرة سنة؛

5. In its resolution, the Commission requested the new Special Rapporteur on mercenaries to circulate to and consult with States on the new proposal for a legal definition of a mercenary drafted by Enrique Bernales Ballesteros (see E/CN.4/2004/15, paragraph 47) and to report her findings to the Commission.
5- وطلبت اللجنة في قرارها إلى المقررة الخاصة الجديدة المعنية بمسألة استخدام المرتزقة أن تعمم على الدول الاقتراح الجديد المتعلق بتعريف قانوني للمرتزق صاغه إنريكه برناليس بالستيروس (انظر E/CN.4/2004/15، الفقرة 47) وأن تتشاور معها بشأنه وأن تقدم استنتاجاتها بشأن الموضوع إلى اللجنة.
