وأردف يقول إن الأونكتاد اتفق على أن يكون مناط تركيزه تحقيق " العولمة المتمحورة حول التنمية " ، والترويج للسياسات والأدوات التي تستهدف الاستيعاب الاجتماعي للكافة وكفالة الاستقرار الاجتماعي والعدالة الاجتماعية.

He concluded by saying that UNCTAD had been the incubator for many useful technical cooperation programmes, but in some cases the decision had to be taken to phase out UNCTAD's participation, as it was no longer best placed to pursue them.
وختم كلمته قائلاً إن الأونكتاد كان حاضناً للعديد من البرامج المفيدة في ميدان التعاون التقني، ولكن لزم في بعض الحالات اتخاذ قرار بإنهاء مشاركة الأونكتاد على مراحل لأنه لم يعد أفضل جهة لمتابعتها.
