1 - إذا اختار مقدم الطلب أن يسهم بقطاع محجـوز للقيام بأنشطة عملا بالمادة 9 من المرفق الثالث للاتفاقية، يكـون القطـاع المشمـول بالطلب على قدر من الاتساع ومن القيمة التجارية التقديرية بما يكفي لإتاحة القيام بعمليتي تعدين ويقوم مقدم الطلب بتحديد شكله وفقا للفقرة 4 من المادة 12.

2. Where the applicant elects to contribute a reserved area, the data and information relating to such area shall be transferred by the applicant to the Authority after the Council has designated the reserved area in accordance with regulation 17 (3).
2 - إذا اختار مقدم الطلب أن يسهم بقطاع محجـوز، فعليه أن يقدم البيانات والمعلومات المتعلقة بهذا القطاع إلى السلطة بعد تعيين المجلس للقطاع المحجـوز وفقا للمادة 17 (3).

4. Notwithstanding the provisions in paragraph 2 above, where an applicant has elected to contribute a reserved area to carry out activities pursuant to article 9 of annex III to the Convention, in accordance with regulation 17, the total area covered by an application shall not exceed 200 polymetallic sulphide blocks.
4 - وعلى الرغم من أحكام الفقرة 2 أعلاه، إذا اختار مقدم الطلب أن يسهم بقطاع محجوز للقيام بأنشطة عملا بالمادة 9 من المرفق الثالث للاتفاقية، وفقا للمادة 17، لا يجوز أن تتجاوز المساحة الكلية التي يغطيها الطلب 200 قطعة من قطع الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات.
