1. The Single Judge or Trial Chamber shall pronounce judgements and impose sentences and penalties on persons covered by Article 1 of this Statute who are convicted by the Mechanism.

Pursuant to article 14 of the statute of the Mechanism, the Prosecutor is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of persons covered by Article 1 of the statute, essentially, those persons indicted by the two International Tribunals, as well as individuals who have knowingly and wilfully interfered in the administration of justice or given false testimony before the Mechanism or the Tribunals.
