The COP, by its decision 4/CP.13, paragraph 7, requested Parties to submit to the secretariat, by 15 February 2008, their views on elements for the terms of reference for the review and assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of Article 4, paragraphs 1(c) and 5, in accordance with decision 13/CP.3.

Background:: The COP, by its decision 4/CP.8, requested Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) to submit to the secretariat, in accordance with Article 12, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Convention, a fourth national communication by 1 January 2006.

By the same decision, the Conference of the Parties invited Parties to submit to the Secretariat lists of wastes covered under the Basel Convention for consideration by the Harmonized System Committee, and requested the Secretariat to continue to move forward, under the guidance of the Open-ended Working Group, with the issue of identifying the wastes covered by the Basel Convention in the WCO Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System.

By its decision 7/CMP.1, the COP/MOP also requested Parties to submit to the secretariat, by 31 May 2006, their views on systematic or systemic barriers to the equitable distribution of CDM project activities and options to address these barriers, for consideration by the COP/MOP at its second session.
33- كما طلب مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف في بروتوكول كيوتو، بموجب مقرره 7/م أ-1، إلى الأطراف أن تقدم إلى الأمانة بحلول 31 أيار/مايو 2006، آراءها بشأن العقبات المنهجية أو العامة التي تعترض التوزيع العادل لأنشطة مشاريع آلية التنمية النظيفة وبشأن خيارات التصدي لهذه العقبات لينظر فيها مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف في بروتوكول كيوتو في دورته الثانية.

The SBI requested Parties to submit to the secretariat, by 4 August 2006, their views on advancing work on the clearing house and on making it fully functional, multilingual and user-friendly, and requested the secretariat to compile these views into a miscellaneous document for consideration by the SBI at its twenty-fifth session.
