Article 8 (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Parties included in Annex C)
المادة 8 (خفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الأحراج وتردي الأحراج في الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم)

The Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties shall define the relevant principles, modalities, rules and guidelines, in particular for verification, reporting and accountability for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in Parties included in Annex C.
يحدد مؤتمر الأطراف العامل بوصفه اجتماع الأطراف المبادئ والطرائق والقواعد والمبادئ التوجيهية ذات الصلة، وبخاصة للتحقق والإبلاغ والمحاسبة فيما يخص خفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الأحراج وتردي الأحراج في الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم.

The Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to this Protocol shall define the relevant principles, modalities, rules and guidelines, in particular for verification, reporting and accountability, for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in Parties included in Annex C.

Replace Article 12, paragraph 2, with: The purpose of the clean development mechanism shall be to promote nationally appropriate mitigation actions by Parties included in Annex C and assist such Parties in achieving sustainable development and in contributing to the ultimate objective of the Convention, and to assist Parties included in Annex I in meeting their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3, paragraph 1;
(ب) يستعاض عن الفقرة 2 من المادة 12 بما يلي: الغرض من آلية التنمية النظيفة هو تعزيز إجراءات التخفيف المناسبة وطنياً التي تتخذها الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم ومساعدة هذه الأطراف في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وفي المساهمة في بلوغ الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية، ومساعدة الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق الأول في الوفاء بالتزاماتها الكمية بتحديد وخفض الانبعاثات بموجب الفقرة 1 من المادة 3؛

The Parties included in Annex C which have substantial contribution to the global emissions of greenhouse gases and have appropriate response capabilities, shall achieve their respective greenhouse gas emission intensity targets as described in Annex C in the commitment period referred to in paragraph 1 (a) above, with a view to limiting substantially their greenhouse gas emission growth.
على الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم التي تساهم مساهمة جوهرية في الانبعاثات العالمية من غازات الدفيئة والتي لديها قدرات استجابة مناسبة أن تحقق الأهداف الخاصة بها لكثافة انبعاثات غازات الدفيئة على النحو المبين في المرفق جيم في فترة الالتزام المشار إليها في الفقرة 1(أ) أعلاه، بغية الحد بصورة جوهرية من نمو انبعاثاتها من غازات الدفيئة.

(ب) يكون الغرض من آلية التنمية النظيفة هو تعزيز إجراءات التخفيف المناسبة وطنياً التي تتخذها الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة والإسهام في الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية، ومساعدة الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق الأول على الوفاء بالتزاماتها بتحديد وخفض الانبعاثات كمياً وفقاً للفقرة 1 من المادة 3؛
