3. In a letter to the Secretary-General dated 17 July 2010, the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement requested the United Nations to provide financial, technical and logistical assistance as well as a monitoring body as stipulated in the agreement.

12. Calls upon the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the communiqué, signed between the United Nations and the Government of National Unity in Khartoum on 28 March 2007 to support, protect, and facilitate all humanitarian operations in the Sudan;
12 - يدعو الأطراف في اتفاق السلام الشامل وفي البيان الذي وقعته الأمم المتحدة وحكومة الوحدة الوطنية، في الخرطوم، في 28 آذار/مارس 2007، إلى توفير الدعم والحماية لجميع العمليات الإنسانية في السودان وتيسيرها؛

6. To underline the need for the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement to promote calm, including by providing immediate and ongoing assurance to people of all nationalities in the Sudan, including Southerners in the North and Northerners in the South, that their rights, safety and property will be respected.

The Council strongly urges the CPA parties to promptly fulfil their remaining commitments to finance the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission and Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau.

17. Encourages UNMIS, consistent with its mandate, and within authorized levels of civilian police, to continue efforts to assist the parties to the CPA in promoting the rule of law, restructuring the police and corrections services throughout Sudan, particularly in the south due to lack of development of the police services, and assisting in the training of civilian police and corrections officers;

I call upon the Comprehensive Peace Agreement parties to make immediate progress on these interrelated issues, recognize the urgent need to establish the Abyei Referendum Commission, address the concerns of the local communities, and uphold their obligations under the Agreement to conduct a timely and credible referendum in Abyei.
