The General Committee decided to recommend to the General Assembly that this item be also allocated to the Fifth Committee for the sole purpose of considering the reports of the Secretary-General entitled " Improvements to the current process of planning and budgeting " and " Intergovernmental review of the medium-term plan and the programme budget " .

1. Takes note of the reports of the Secretary-General entitled " International cooperation on humanitarian assistance in the field of natural disasters, from relief to development " and " Strengthening the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations " ;
1 - تحيط علما بتقريري الأمين العام المعنونين " التعاون الدولي بشأن تقديم المساعدة الإنسانية في ميدان الكوارث الطبيعية، من مرحلة الإغاثة إلى مرحلـة التنمية " () و " تعزيز تنسيق المساعدة الإنسانية التي تقدمها الأمم المتحدة في حالات الطوارئ " ()؛

2. The report provides an overview of actions taken pursuant to the reports of the Secretary-General entitled " Renewing the United Nations: a programme for reform " (A/51/950) and " Strengthening of the United Nations: an agenda for further change " (A/57/387 and Corr.1), and describes some of the challenges faced in that process.
