The report describes a road map to improve the quality and availability of crime statistics by identifying a number of objectives and related actions.

Welcomes the deliberations of the Statistical Commission at its forty-fourth session, held in New York from 26 February to 1 March 2013, including the consideration it gave to the report on a road map to improve the quality and availability of crime statistics at the national and international levels;

The plan was presented to the two Commissions as part of the report on a road map to improve the quality and availability of crime statistics at the national and international level (see E/CN.3/2013/11 and E/CN.15/2013/12).

The Commission will also have before it, for information purposes, the joint report of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI) and UNODC on crime statistics, which provides a brief review of activities undertaken to implement the road map to improve the quality and availability of crime statistics at the national and international levels.
