In my capacity as the representative of the current chairman of the African Union, I have the honour to transmit herewith a communiqué adopted at the fifty-first meeting of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa, on 15 May 2006.

By its recommendation 50/7, the Committee had agreed to prepare a draft decision that would set such a time limit for consideration at the fifty-first meeting of the Committee and subsequently by the Twenty-Fifth Meeting of the Parties.
