2. The Secretary-General welcomes the report of the Joint Inspection Unit on the use of consultants in the United Nations (A/55/59).

The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the members of the General Assembly his comments on the report of the Joint Inspection Unit entitled " The use of consultants in the United Nations " (A/55/59).

17. Some of the questions and issues raised in the report of the Joint Inspection Unit on the use of consultants in the United Nations (A/55/59) pertain to a use of human resources databases, notably the skills inventory and an improved geographical balance for consultants.
17 - وبعض الأسئلة والقضايا التي طُرحت في تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة عن استخدام الاستشاريين في الأمم المتحدة (A/55/59) تتعلق باستخدام قواعد بيانات الموارد البشرية، وبخاصة جرد المهارات وتحقيق توازن جغرافي أفضل في الاستعانة بالاستشاريين.

3. In adopting the agenda, the Committee, in accordance with the decision taken at its 2nd meeting, on 11 June 2001, decided to consider at its forty-first session the report of the Joint Inspection Unit entitled " The use of consultants in the United Nations " (A/55/59) and the comments of the Secretary-General thereon (A/55/59/Add.1).
