12. Requests the Secretary-General to render the assistance necessary and to provide such services as may be required for annual conferences and expert meetings of the High Contracting Parties to the Convention and of the High Contracting Parties to Amended Protocol II and Protocol V, as well as for any continuation of the work after the meetings;

5. The attendance of sponsored delegates at the Amended Protocol II and Protocol V Meetings of Experts in 2013 was an opportunity to brief and discuss with them the background to and reasons for joining the CCW and its Protocols.
5- وكان حضور المندوبين المستفيدين من برنامج الرعاية اجتماعَي خبراء البروتوكول الثاني المعدل والبروتوكول الخامس مناسبة في عام 2013 لإطلاعها على خلفية الانضمام إلى اتفاقية الأسلحة التقليدية وبروتوكولاتها وأسبابه ومناقشتها.

19. The exchange of information and collaboration among experts on Amended Protocol II and Protocol V demonstrated a desire to promote greater cooperation and create more synergies within the framework of the Convention.
19- وأشار الأمين العام في رسالته كذلك إلى أن تبادل المعلومات والتعاون فيما بين خبراء البروتوكول الثاني المعدل والبروتوكول الخامس يدلان على وجود الحماس لتعزيز التعاون بقدر أكبر ولتعبئة مزيد من عوامل التآزر في إطار الاتفاقية.

7. In a session chaired together with Ms. Petra Drexler, Protocol V Coordinator on Clearance, an expert presentation highlighted the importance of the implementation of the provisions of Amended Protocol II and Protocol V to address humanitarian problems posed by IEDs composed of conventional ammunition or conventional weapons parts.
7- وفي دورة ترأسها منسق البروتوكول الخامس المعني بإزالة الألغام إلى جانب السيدة بيترا دريكسلر، أبرز عرض خبير أهمية تنفيذ أحكام البروتوكول الثاني المعدل والبروتوكول الخامس للتصدي للمشاكل الإنسانية التي تطرحها الأجهزة المتفجرة المرتجلة المكونة من الذخائر التقليدية أو من أجزاء الأسلحة التقليدية.

17. Mr. BETTAUER (United States of America) suggested that, instead of holding three separate meetings on the Convention as a whole, Amended Protocol II and Protocol V, it might be useful to combine them into a single week-long CCW conference in 2008.

High Contracting Parties to the Convention had a political obligation to submit annual reports on the implementation of the instrument as a whole under the compliance mechanism established by the Third Review Conference; they also had legal obligations in respect of reporting under Amended Protocol II and Protocol V. National reporting was essential to the implementation of the Convention.
وعلى الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية في الاتفاقية التزام سياسي بأن تقدم تقاريرها السنوية عن تنفيذ الصك ككل بموجب آلية الامتثال التي وضعها المؤتمر الاستعراضي الثالث؛ وعليها أيضا التزامات قانونية في مجال تقديم التقارير بمقتضى البروتوكول الثاني المعدل والبروتوكول الخامس. إن تقديم التقارير الوطنية أمر ضروري في تنفيذ الاتفاقية.

14. Requests the Secretary-General to render the assistance necessary and to provide such services, including summary records, as may be required for annual conferences and expert meetings of the High Contracting Parties to the Convention and of the High Contracting Parties to Amended Protocol II and Protocol V, as well as for any continuation of the work after the meetings;
