Another significant form of international energy cooperation is participation of the foreign private sector in the provision of electricity production and distribution in developing countries under sometimes complex but workable arrangements such as build-operate-trade (BOT) and build-own-operate (BOO) schemes.

ولا بد لﻵلية أن تكون من المتانة بما يكفي لتسهيل تدفق الموارد إلى البلدان النامية وفقا لاحتياجاتها ونقل التكنولوجيا بشروط تفضيلية.

By virtue of its mandate and open-ended composition it was well placed to contribute to the reform of the Organization by strengthening the role of the General Assembly, increasing the membership of the Security Council in the interest of developing countries in accordance with the principle of the sovereign equality of Member States, and improving the Council's procedures and working methods.

This report also details the progress in the implementation of the strategy for technical cooperation among developing countries in accordance with Committee decision 8/2.

He deplored the reluctance of the nuclear Powers to fulfil their obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty concerning the transfer of nuclear materials and technology for peaceful uses to developing countries under the IAEA full-scope safeguards, which was the only tangible benefit that the developing countries expected from the NPT.
