Today, I want to comment briefly on the fourth item, security assurances.

A brief presentation was made on the main findings of the State of Food Insecurity in the World 2013 (SOFI 2013) under Item III. Recommendations from policy round table debates on two topics were made under Item IV, including, " Biofuels and Food Security " and " Investing in Smallholder Agriculture for Food Security and Nutrition " .
وكان هناك عرض موجز لأهمّ النتائج الصادرة عن تقرير حالة انعدام الأمن الغذائي في العالم لعام 2013 في إطار البند الثالث. وصدرت في إطار البند الرابع توصيات عن المائدتين المستديرتين حول سياسات " الوقود البيولوجي والأمن الغذائي " و " الاستثمار في زراعة أصحاب الحيازات الصغيرة للأمن الغذائي والتغذية " .

In December 2009, it was reported that the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Arturo Valenzuela, had sent a letter to Senator George LeMieux (Republican-Florida), stressing that the United States Department of State continued to apply the sanctions envisaged under Title IV of the Helms-Burton Act.
