The Treasurer heads the Treasury Unit that provides core services for the United Nations Office at Geneva and its clients in respect of cash management and investment of United Nations Staff Mutual Insurance Society funds.

The Board recommends that the United Nations Office at Geneva pursue its efforts to manage the investment fund of the United Nations Staff Medical Insurance Society against Sickness and Accident in such a way as to maximize its return.

All other staff members are covered by the insurance scheme of the United Nations Office at Geneva (United Nations Staff Mutual Insurance Society), whose operations are reflected in the United Nations financial statements.
