One of our major tasks in this Committee is to promote such international cooperation in space activities so that outer space is explored and exploited for truly peaceful purposes and for the benefit and interests of all humanity.

Her Government’s aerospace policy emphasized the observance of international law, the peaceful uses of outer space, and international cooperation in space activities.

6.1 In 1959, when space activities were in their infancy, the General Assembly recognized the need for a mechanism to ensure broad international cooperation in space activities.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations has submitted a report on international cooperation in space activities for enhancing security in the post-cold-war era, in which he proposes to broaden international cooperation in the area by revitalizing existing mechanisms and by producing new cooperation mechanisms as well.
لقد قدم اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة تقريرا عن التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية لتعزيز اﻷمن في فترة ما بعد الحرب الباردة، يقترح فيه توسيع نطاق التعاون الدولي في هذا المجال وذلك بتنشيط اﻵليات الحالية وبإنشاء آليات جديدة للتعاون أيضا.

وقدم اﻷمين العام إلى الجمعية العامة في عام ١٩٩٣ دراسات عن تطبيق تدابير بناء الثقة في الفضاء الخارجي)٢٦( وعن التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية لتعزيز اﻷمن في عهد ما بعد الحرب الباردة)٢٧(.

6.3 While the end of the cold war enhanced opportunities for international cooperation in space activities between various countries, many countries with space capabilities are facing difficulty in justifying government spending for costly space projects.
٦-٣ وفي حين أدت نهاية الحرب الباردة إلى تعزيز فرص التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية بين مختلف البلدان، فإن بلدانا عديدة ذات قدرات فضائية تواجه صعوبة في تبرير اﻹنفاق الحكومي على المشاريع الفضائية المكلفة.

75. Mr. ALLAREY (Philippines), said that while he welcomed the Secretary-General's report on international cooperation in space activities for enhancing security in the post-cold-war era (A/48/221), he would have liked it to focus more on the developmental impact of the uses of outer space as a more lasting basis for peace and security.
٧٥ - السيد اللاراي )الفلبين(: قال إنه، في حين يرحب بتقرير اﻷمين العام عن التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية لتعزيز اﻷمن في فترة ما بعد الحرب الباردة )A/48/221(، كان يود أن يركز التقرير بصورة أكبر على اﻷثر اﻹنمائي المترتب على استخدام الفضاء الخارجي بوصفه أساسا أكثر دواما للسلم واﻷمن.

40. Welcomes the report of the Secretary-General on international cooperation in space activities for enhancing security in the post-cold-war era 14/ and calls upon the competent bodies to take into account its contents;
٤٠ - ترحب بتقرير اﻷمين العام عن التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية لتعزيز اﻷمن في فترة ما بعد الحرب الباردة)٤١(، وتطلب الى الهيئات المختصة أن تأخذ في الحسبان محتوى ذلك التقرير؛

In addition to development concerns, protecting the environment is another reason why international cooperation in space-related activities will continue to be important.
٣٣ - وحماية البيئة سبب آخر ، الى جانب الاعتبارات الانمائية ، يفسر لماذا سيظل التعاون الدولي في اﻷنشطة الفضائية هاما في المستقبل .
