584. The expansion and framing of the fields and organizations of Afro-Arab cooperation require the involvement and incorporation of civil and non-governmental organizations in joint action. This requires the creation of joint Afro-Arab groups and associations in all areas of civil society activity and an emphasis on the rationalization of the pluralistic bases of democratic organizations.
إن توسيع وتأطير مجالات ومؤسسات التعاون العربي الأفريقي يتطلب العمل على إشراك وإدماج المجتمع المدني وغير الحكومي في مجالات العمل المشترك، الأمر الذي يدعو إلى إنشاء تجمعات وجمعيات مشتركة أفريقية عربية في كافة مجالات عمل المجتمع المدني والتأكيد على ترشيد أسس التعددية والمؤسسات الديمقراطية.

Perhaps what gives hope and confidence for the future is that there is a common desire on both the Arab and African sides to make practical recommendations to activate Afro-Arab cooperation and remove the obstacles preventing the resumption of progress on new foundations.
ولعل ما يدعو إلى الأمل، والثقة في المستقبل، أن هناك رغبة مشتركة لدى الجانبين العربي والأفريقي لوضع توصيات ممكنة التنفيذ لتفعيل التعاون العربي الأفريقي وتُزيل العوائق التي تعترض استئناف مسيرته على أسس جديدة.

15. To request the Secretariat-General to expedite the opening of the Mission of the League of Arab States in Pretoria, South Africa, so as to support and strengthen the mechanisms for Afro-Arab cooperation;

12. To welcome the signing of the agreement to open an Arab League mission in Pretoria, South Africa, and to call upon the Secretariat-General to expedite the opening of this mission to support and strengthen the mechanisms of Afro-Arab cooperation;

450. On 1 February 2008, the African Summit adopted a resolution on Afro-Arab cooperation, expressing concern at the long delay in convening the second Afro-Arab Summit.
450 - أصدرت القمة الأفريقية في 1/2/2008 قرارا حول التعاون العربي الأفريقي أعربت فيه عن القلق إزاء التأخر الطويل في انعقاد القمة العربية الأفريقية الثانية.

Cooperation in the sphere of human rights: The African Union welcomed the proposals of the Arab League to foster Afro-Arab cooperation in the sphere of human rights and to strengthen contacts between the two organizations in this area.
- التعاون في مجال حقوق الإنسان: رحب الاتحاد الأفريقي بمقترحات جامعة الدول العربية لتنشيط التعاون العربي الأفريقي في مجال حقوق الإنسان وتعزيز الاتصالات بين المنظمتين في هذا المجال.

31. The leaders, in the light of the resolutions adopted by the Ministerial-level Council of the League of Arab States in this regard, affirm the importance of continuing the efforts to eliminate obstacles to effective Afro-Arab cooperation and of regular meetings between the bodies concerned. They request the Secretary-General to pursue his contacts on this matter, including those with the Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity.
31 - يؤكد القادة على أهمية مواصلة الجهود لإزالة العوائق التي تعترض تفعيل التعاون العربي الأفريقي وانتظام اجتماعات أجهزته، وذلك في ضوء قرارات مجلس الجامعة على المستوى الوزاري في هذا الشأن، ويكلفون الأمين العام متابعة اتصالاته في هذا الخصوص، بما في ذلك مع الأمين العام لمنظمة الوحدة الأفريقية.

:: We affirm the importance of Afro-Arab cooperation, the need to activate the structures and revitalize the institutions thereof and remove obstacles in the path of positive cooperation in order to strengthen Afro-Arab relations and promote development in the Afro-Arab space.
- نؤكد على أهمية التعاون العربي الأفريقي وضرورة تنشيط هياكله وإحياء مؤسساته، وإزالة العقبات التي تعترض سبيله حتى يسهم إيجاباً في تعزيز العلاقات العربية الأفريقية، وفي دفع التنمية في الفضاءين العربي والأفريقي.

:: Afro-Arab cooperation is not inconsistent with seeking to benefit from the possibilities of joint cooperation (Arab or African) with any states or blocs on the basis of South-South cooperation.
إن التعاون العربي الأفريقي لا يتعارض مع الاستفادة من إمكانيات التعاون المشترك (العربي - الأفريقي) مع أي دول أو مجموعات ضمن مبدأ التعاون جنوب - جنوب.
