In all, 196 parties to the Montreal Protocol have ratified all of the amendments to the Protocol and are thus bound by all the provisions of the Protocol and its amendments.

amendments to Protocol II, which deals with landmines, include a ban on the use of non-detectable mines and the transfer of such mines; restrictions on mines that do not self-destruct or self-deactivate; restrictions on the remote delivery of mines; the prohibition of anti-sensing devices designed to disrupt clearance operations; and an extension of the Protocol's scope to cover internal armed conflicts.
