33. The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights has expressed concern about the persistence of de facto discrimination of some vulnerable groups, " commonly referred to as Akhdam, Ahjur or Zubud " , and has urged the Government " to undertake effective measures, such as awareness-raising campaigns and educational programmes, to combat [this] de facto discrimination " (E/C.12/1/Add.92, paras. 8 and 27).

24- بينما تلاحظ اللجنة أن القانون الأساسي للدولة والقوانين المحلية الأخرى تقوم على أساس مبدأ عدم التمييز وأن الدولة الطرف قد اتخذت تدابير لتعزيز مبدأ المساواة بين النساء والرجال، ولا سيما في مجال القانون المدني وقانون العمل، إلا أنها تشعر بالقلق إزاء ضعف تنفيذ هذه القوانين واستمرار التمييز بحكم الأمر الواقع ضد النساء والفتيات في المجتمع العُماني.

233. While noting that the Basic Law of the State and other domestic laws are based on the principle of non-discrimination and that the State party has taken measures to promote the principle of equality between women and men, particularly in the domain of civil and labour laws, the Committee is concerned about the weak implementation of these laws and the persisting de facto discrimination against women and girls in Omani society.

In 2006, CRC recommended that Jordan abolish the discriminatory classification of children as " illegitimate " , eliminate de facto discrimination on any grounds and against all vulnerable groups of children, and prioritize social and health services, and equal education opportunities for children belonging to the most vulnerable groups.
14- وفي عام 2006، أوصت لجنة حقوق الطفل الأردن بإلغاء التصنيف التمييزي لبعض الأطفال على أنهم " غير شرعيين " ، والقضاء على التمييز بحكم الأمر الواقع على أي أساس كان، والتمييز ضد جميع الأطفال من الفئات الضعيفة، وإعطاء الأولوية للخدمات الصحية والاجتماعية، ومساواة أطفال الفئات الأضعف في فرص الحصول على التعليم(42).

The Committee urges the State party to adopt the necessary measures to prevent, diminish and eventually eliminate the conditions and attitudes which cause or perpetuate de facto discrimination against those groups of children, in line with the Committee's general comment no. 20 (2009) on non-discrimination in economic, social and cultural rights.
