71. The Togolese authorities were doing their best to ensure respect for human rights and for the rule of law, but could only achieve that aim with the support of the international community.

On 16 June 2014, the Permanent Mission responded by sending a note verbale in which it wrote that the Togolese authorities were investigating the case and would provide a reply; to date, that reply has not been received.

For purposes of harmonization with article 9 of the Convention, the retention of the nationality of a divorced foreign woman is being addressed during the drafting of the future Togolese civil code, with a view to correcting article 23.3 of Ordinance No. 78-34 of 16 September 1978 constituting the Togolese Nationality Code.
186- من أجل الامتثال للمادة 9 من اتفاقية القضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز ضد المرأة، فمن المتوقع أن تحتفظ المرأة الأجنبية المطلقة بجنسيتها في إطار صياغة القانون المدني القادم في توغو من أجل تصحيح المادة 23-3 من المرسوم رقم 78-34 المؤرخ 16 أيلول/سبتمبر 1978 والمتعلق بقانون الجنسية التوغوية.

373. NGOs and women's associations also carry out various measures to ensure that Togolese women enjoy equal treatment by the courts.

١٣- وكانت أمامه وثيقة بعنوان " استراتيجية الرعب " صادرة، حسبما ذُكر فيها، عن اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الانسان، ومجموعات اتخاذ المبادرات الخاصة بحقوق الانسان، والرابطة التوغوية لحقوق الانسان، وتغطي الحالة حتى ٥ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٣.

The international humanitarian law workshops for the military high command will take place; for the military troops, the regular international humanitarian law training and preparatory sessions will continue; a training video will soon be available to training and education centres; open-house days for the civilian population organized by the Togolese armed forces in 2011 will continue.
وستُعقَد حلقات عمل بشأن القانون الإنساني الدولي لفائدة القيادات العسكرية العليا؛ أما بالنسبة لأفراد القوات المسلحة، فستظل تُعقَد الدورات التدريبية والدورات التحضيرية المعتادة في مجال القانون الإنساني الدولي؛ وسيتوافر قريباً برنامج تدريب بالفيديو في مراكز التدريب والتعليم؛ وسيستمر تنظيم الأيام المفتوحة لمشاركة السكان المدنيين، على غرار الأيام التي نظمتها القوات المسلحة التوغوية في عام 2011.

(a) Information that many extrajudicial executions, arbitrary arrests, threats and intimidation perpetrated by the Togolese security forces against members of the civilian population, in particular members of the opposition, have not been investigated in a credible manner. The Committee notes that the adoption of laws such as the December 1994 Amnesty Act is likely to reinforce the culture of impunity in Togo;
