22. While the Committee appreciates the results of research carried out by the State party on the changes in cultural behaviour, it notes the persistence of a stereotyped division of gender roles in family and society, in addition to media attitudes that reinforce discriminatory messages on the sexual objectification of women and supposed male superiority.
22 - تقدّر اللجنة نتائج البحوث التي أجرتها الدولة الطرف بشأن تغيّرات السلوك الثقافي، وإن كانت تشير إلى استمرار وجود تقسيم للأدوار بين الجنسين في الأُسرة والمجتمع حسب قوالب نمطية، علاوة على مواقف وسائل الإعلام التي تعزز الرسائل التمييزية بشأن معاملة النساء على أنهن متاع جنسي وعلوّ الذكور المفترض عليهن.

(16) The Committee is concerned at the number of reports of illtreatment by law enforcement agencies, the limited number of investigations carried out by the State party in such cases, and the very limited number of convictions in those cases which are investigated (arts. 12 and 16).

The Committee is also concerned about allegations of torture and ill-treatment being used to extract confessions or information as evidence in criminal proceedings, despite legislative and organizational changes made by the State party (arts. 2, 15 and 16).
