1 - هذا التقرير مقدم عملا بالقرار 54/147 المؤرخ 17 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1999، الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها، في دورتها الخامسة والخمسين، تقريرا شاملا عن حالة اللاجئين والعائدين والمشردين في أفريقيا، آخذا في كامل الاعتبار الجهود التي تبذلها بلدان اللجوء.

4. The present report is submitted pursuant to the General Assembly’s request for a comprehensive report on the situation of refugees, returnees and displaced persons in Africa to it at its fifty-fourth session taking fully into account the efforts expended by countries of asylum.
