At the twenty-third Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting, the consultative parties adopted the Lima Declaration on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the signing of the Antarctic Treaty, by which they reiterated their commitment to the principles of the Antarctic Treaty and to the objectives of its Protocol on Environmental Protection.
