In this connection, the Assembly, at its forty-ninth session, adopted resolution 49/175 of 23 December 1994, in which it, inter alia, called upon all Member States to consider signing and ratifying or acceding to the Convention as a matter of priority.

50. It may be recalled in this connection that, in paragraph 15 of resolution 48/221, the General Assembly decided to keep under review some of the JIU proposals contained in paragraph 40 of the annual report for 1993. 1/ Accordingly, these proposals are before the Assembly at its forty-ninth session.
٠٥ - وتجدر اﻹشارة في هذا الصدد الى أن الجمعية العامة قررت، في الفقرة ١٥ من القرار ٤٨/٢٢١، أن تبقي الاستعراض بعض مقترحات وحدة التفتيش الواردة في الفقرة ٤٠ من التقرير السنوي لعام ١٩٩٣)١(. وبناء عليه، تعرض هذه المقترحات على الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين.

2. The General Assembly further requested the Secretary-General to continue to mobilize and coordinate resources and support for the Sudan Emergency Operations and Operation Lifeline Sudan, to assess and report on the emergency situation, the recovery and rehabilitation of the country, to the Assembly at its forty-ninth session.
٢ - كذلك طلبت الجمعية العامة الى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل تعبئة وتنسيق الموارد والدعم لعملية الطوارئ وعملية شريان الحياة للسودان، وتقييم حالة الطوارئ في هذا البلد، وتقديم تقرير عنها الى الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين وعن إنعاش البلد وإصلاحه.

In resolution 48/76 C, of 16 December 1993, entitled " United Nations disarmament fellowship, training and advisory services programme " , the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to continue the implementation of the Geneva-based programme and to report to the Assembly at its forty-ninth session.
١ - طلبت الجمعية العامة، في القرار ٨٤/٦٧ جيم المؤرخ ٦١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٣٩٩١ والمعنون " برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للزمالات والتدريب والخدمات الاستشارية في ميدان نزع السلاح " ، إلى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل تنفيذ البرنامج الذي يتخذ من جنيف مقرا له، وأن يقدم تقريرا عنه إلى الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين.

ودعت الجمعية في دورتها السادسة واﻷربعين اﻷمين العام والمدير العام لليونسكو إلى اﻹعداد ﻹجراء استعراض عالمي في منتصف المدة للعقد تقوم به الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين )القرار ٤٦/١٥٧(.

67. In its resolution 46/157, the Assembly invited the Secretary-General and the Director-General of UNESCO to undertake the preparation of a global mid-term review of the Decade, to be carried out by the Assembly at its forty-ninth session.
٦٧ - ودعت الجمعية في قرارها ٤٦/١٥٧ اﻷمين العام والمدير العام لمنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة إلى اﻹعداد ﻹجراء استعراض عالمي في منتصف المدة للعقد تقوم به الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين.

A follow-up report (A/C.5/49/41) was considered by the Assembly at its forty-ninth session, as was a report by the Board of Auditors (A/49/680) on a special audit of IMIS requested by the Assembly.
ونظرت الجمعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين في تقرير متابعة (A/C.5/49/41) وكذلك في تقرير قدمه مجلس مراجعي الحسابات (A/49/680) بشأن مراجعة الحسابات الخاصة لنظام المعلومات اﻹدارية المتكامل بناء على طلب من الجمعية.
