1. States Parties shall afford one another the greatest measure of assistance in connection with investigations or criminal or extradition proceedings brought in respect of the offences set forth in article 2 of the present Convention, including assistance in obtaining evidence at their disposal necessary for the proceedings.

Upon being satisfied that the circumstances so warrant, any State Party in the territory of which the alleged offender or convicted person is present shall, in accordance with its laws, take measures, such as taking that person into custody, to ensure that person's presence for such time as is reasonable to enable any criminal or extradition proceedings to be instituted.
