In this respect, further cooperation with international organizations was highlighted as an efficient way to improve transport and other trade supporting services in developing countries.

4. Concerning item 4 of the agenda, he stressed that, in the present context of liberalization and globalization, the elimination of the barriers created by inadequate trade-supporting services was critical for the very survival of many of the weaker players in the international economy.

The Division will analyse the situation of trade-supporting services from the viewpoint of small and medium-sized enterprises, and will propose solutions based on the reform of policies, the dissemination of best practices, the use of modern, wide-reaching training tools, and of information technologies and global networks, with particular attention being paid to electronic commerce.
وستقوم الشعبة بتحليل حالة الخدمات الداعمة للتجارة من وجهة نظر المشاريع الصغيرة الحجم والمتوسطة الحجم، وستقترح حلولا على أساس إصلاح السياسات ونشر أفضل الممارسات، واستخدام أدوات تدريب حديثة واسعة النطاق، وتكنولوجيات المعلومات والشبكات العالمية، مع إيلاء اهتمام خاص بالتجارة اﻹلكترونية.

To that end, we further invite bilateral donors and the international and regional financial institutions, together with the relevant United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, to reinforce the support for trade-related training, capacity and institution building and trade-supporting services.

He felt that the separation of " strengthening trade-supporting services " and " trade efficiency measures " in section I.B of the report was in contradiction with efforts to improve trade-supporting services where integration of trade efficiency and Trade Point efforts was of marked importance.
