The Ecuadorian State has signed and ratified the American Convention on Human Rights (Pact of San José), which clearly establishes the mandatory compliance of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights' decisions, granting the latter the possibility to interpret and apply the norms of the previously mentioned Convention.
