While noting the efforts made by the State party to reinforce its judiciary and secure its independence, such as the enactment of the new Law on Judges, the Committee is concerned about issues arising from the overall inadequate functioning of the courts in the administration of justice, resulting in unreasonable delays and other shortcomings in the procedures.
17- وتلاحظ اللجنة الجهود التي تبذلها الدولة الطرف لتعزيز جهازها القضائي وضمان استقلاله كسن القانون الجديد المتعلق بالقضاة، لكنها تشعر بالقلق إزاء القضايا الناشئة عن عدم كفاية أداء المحاكم في مجال إقامة العدل وهو ما يؤدي إلى حالات تأخير تتجاوز الحد المعقول وأوجه خلل أخرى في الإجراءات.

The Committee further commends the efforts of the State party to consolidate the status of Tunisian women through the establishment of the commission for monitoring the image of women in the media and a national commission for the promotion of rural women.
