Council members also encouraged the current Chairman of ECOWAS and leaders of the subregion, as well as the Friends of Guinea-Bissau, to continue playing an active role and redouble their initiatives of good offices for economic and financial assistance.

13. Within the same framework, the current Chairman of ECOWAS and President of the Togolese Republic, His Excellency Mr. Gnassingbé Eyadéma, invited the signatories to the Abuja Agreement to a meeting to discuss the evolution of the peace process in Guinea-Bissau and to seek ways and means of accelerating the implementation of the Agreement.
١٣ - وفي نفس اﻹطار، دعا الرئيس الحالي للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا ورئيس الجمهوية التوغولية، صاحب السعادة غناسينغبي إياديما، اﻷطراف الموقعة على اتفاق أبوجا المذكور أعلاه إلى حضور اجتماع تشاور بشأن تطور عملية السلام في غينيا - بيساو، للبحث عن سبل ووسائل لتعجيل تنفيذ اتفاق ١ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٨.
