All these precepts, which are contained in article 5 of the Constitution, are immutable clauses, which, therefore, cannot be changed through a constitutional amendment (article 60, paragraph 4, subsection IV, of the Constitution).

107. The Ombudsman's Office has presented to the Attorney General's Chambers amendments to Chapter IV of the Constitution to provide for a tribunal to enforce its recommendations and a mediation provision considering the important role that mediation plays in Solomon Islands cultures.
