" 1. Welcomes the adoption by the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference, held in Bali, Indonesia from 19 to 27 August 1992, of the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development, and endorses the recommendations of that Declaration;

2. The first of such regional conferences was the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference, which was held at Denpasar, Indonesia, from 19 to 27 August 1992.

ESCAP has provided training and advisory services to member countries in order to support implementation of the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development adopted by the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference held in 1992, and the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
وهيأت اللجنة التدريب والخدمات الاستشارية للدول اﻷعضاء من أجل دعم تنفيذ إعلان بالي بشأن السكان والتنمية المستدامة الذي اعتمده مؤتمر السكان الرابع ﻵسيا والمحيط الهادئ المعقود في عام ١٩٩٢ وبرنامج عمل المؤتمر الدولي للسكان والتنمية.

90. The Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference urged Governments to further reduce population growth rates by adopting strategies aimed at attaining replacement level of 2.1 children per woman by the year 2010 or sooner.

The Fourth Asian and Pacific Ministerial Conference on Social Welfare and Social Development, held in 1991, adopted a social development strategy for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) region to the year 2000 and beyond, with three basic objectives: eradicating absolute poverty, realizing distributive justice, and enhancing popular participation.
٩٤ - واعتمد المؤتمر الوزاري الرابع ﻵسيا والمحيط الهادئ المعني بالرفاه الاجتماعي والتنمية الاجتماعية، المعقود في عام ١٩٩١، استراتيجية للتنمية الاجتماعية لمنطقة اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية ﻵسيا والمحيط الهادئ حتى عام ٢٠٠٠ وما بعده، ذات أهداف أساسية ثلاثة هي: القضاء على الفقر المدقع، وتحقيق عدالة التوزيع، وتعزيز المشاركة الشعبية.

Organized by ESCAP and the Conference secretariat, the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference, with the central theme of " Population and sustainable development: goals and strategies into the twenty-first century " , noted that understanding the interdependence between people, their development activities and the environment was of crucial importance.

Mr. Mabilangan (Philippines): During the preparatory process for the World Summit for Social Development, the Philippines played host to the Fourth Asian and Pacific Ministerial Conference on Social Development of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), which resulted in the Manila Declaration that called for the eradication of poverty by the year 2010.
