Calls upon the Secretary-General, the High Commissioner, the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat and United Nations humanitarian agencies to continue their efforts to mobilize humanitarian assistance for the relief, repatriation, rehabilitation and resettlement of refugees, returnees and displaced persons, including those refugees in urban areas;
٨ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام والمفوضة السامية وإدارة الشؤون اﻹنسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة والوكالات اﻹنسانية التابعة لمنظومة اﻷمم المتحدة مواصلة بذل الجهود الرامية إلى تعبئة المساعدة اﻹنسانية ﻹغاثة اللاجئين والعائدين والمشردين، ومن بينهم اللاجئون في المناطق الحضرية، وإعادتهم إلى الوطن وتأهيلهم وإعادة توطينهم؛

The Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat has established the United Nations Rwanda Emergency Office (UNREO), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), UNHCR, the World Food Programme (WFP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

3. The report to the General Assembly at its fiftieth session on financial issues of the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (A/50/521) pointed to the need for improved funding security for all aspects of the Decade and for effective synergies within the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat.
٣ - وأشار التقرير المقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الخمسين بشأن المسائل المالية للعقد الدولي للحد من الكوارث الطبيعية (A/50/521)، إلى ضرورة تحسين اﻷمن المالي لجميع جوانب العقد ولتحقيق التآزر الفعال داخل إدارة الشؤون اﻹنسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة.

In the formal sessions, statements were made by the Georgian and Abkhaz sides, as well as by the representatives of the Russian Federation, France (on behalf of the Friends of the Secretary-General on Georgia), OSCE, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat.
٤ - وأدلى ببيانات في الجلسات الرسمية ممثلا جورجيا وأبخازيا، وكذلك ممثلو الاتحاد الروسي وفرنسا )بالنيابة عن أصدقاء اﻷمين العام بشأن جورجيا( ومفوضية اﻷمم المتحدة السامية لشؤون اللاجئين، وإدارة الشؤون اﻹنسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة لﻷمم المتحدة.

4. The Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat, at the request of the Government of Madagascar, had previously undertaken a project of technical assistance for the country (MAG/84/014 - Strengthening the government intervention capacity in case of natural human disasters) at a cost of US$ 400,000 funded under Madagascar's United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) indicative planning figure.
٤ - وكانت إدارة الشؤون اﻹنسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة قد اضطلعت، بناء على طلب حكومة مدغشقر، بمشروع لتقديم المساعدة التقنية لهذا البلد )MAB/84/014 - تعزيز قدرة الحكومة على التدخل في حالة الكوارث الطبيعية البشرية( بتكلفة قوامها ٠٠٠ ٤٠٠ دولار من دولارات الولايات المتحدة وجرى تمويله من رقم التخطيط اﻹرشادي الذي وضعه برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي لمدغشقر.

The extremely grave social and humanitarian situation in the FRY under the sanctions imposed by the international community is confirmed by the United Nations document " The Revised inter-agency appeal for the former Yugoslavia " of 8 October 1993, compiled by the Department for Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
