The Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity monitors the operation and functioning on in- and outpatient care agencies, determines the level of financial support, exercises the welfare benefits policy, approves and finances de-institutionalization programs, grants transport cards and implements camping programs for children and adults.

255. In 2007, at level of strategic policy, the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity (HMOHSS) designed the following National Action Plans for 2008 - 2012 on: (a) sexual and reproduction health; and (b) HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

(ج) إنشاء مراكز اجتماعية - طبية بمقتضى القرار الوزاري المشترك (2006) لوزارة الصحة والتضامن الاجتماعي ووزارة العمل والضمان الاجتماعي ووزارة الاقتصاد والمالية ووزارة الداخلية والإدارة العامة واللامركزية الرامي إلى مكافحة استبعاد الفئات المستضعفة اجتماعياً؛

Established in 1963, the Mental Health Department of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity enforced instructions of the European Committee for the prevention of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and had submitted reports and recommendations on its three visits to psychiatric hospitals to the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity.

During the period under examination and regarding caesarean sections in our country, the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity has ordered the Inspection Corps for Health and Welfare Services (ICHWS) to conduct inspections of the proportion of normal deliveries out of total births at all obstetrics clinics of public and private hospitals in Greece.
